You may have seen this little piece before. I was reminded of it again when a friend sent it to me this morning.

Subject: Thought for the Day I'm not passing this because of my "miracle" tomorrow, I'm passing it along because it is a good message and it deserves to be said. More importantly, you deserve to hear it!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value! . It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE. You are special- Don't EVER forget it."

Oh, yes! I lost 2 lbs. at WW this week!
The Muscular Dystrophy Association grabbed me as the lock up for their annual fundraiser. On Thursday, September 30th, I will be arrested, hand-cuffed in front of the entire middle school and taken to jail, if I am not able to post a bond of $1,050.00 to be used to send two kids to MDA camp.

I am not a fund-raiser. I am going on a mission trip this next summer, and I am doing everything I can to pay my own passage so I won't have to send out letters, etc. We had a flower certificate fundraiser and I "bought" my fair share. I have given some as gifts, but still have some left. They can only be used at one florist in Abilene, and I am seldom here during their hours of business. I have participated in work projects to raise funds, but when all is said and done, I am not a fund-raiser.

Still, it is a cute idea. Two years ago, they arrested our principal. He did the entire gang-banger thing and looked rather interesting with his do-rag, but with that baby face, he fooled no one! Perhaps, if he hadn't shaved for a week........

So I wonder if I could raise more money to post bond or if the MDA could raise more to keep me locked up. : )
