Weight Watchers. I joined back in June at the urging of my daughter, Lorena.

I am really missing her this week. She is in Branson, MO helping her inlaws celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary, which isn't until next year. But the younger daughter, Amy, is getting married next summer, so they moved it up a year. Personally, I think they should have just called it the 39th Anniversary celebration. : ) Congratulations Dub and Ann on your 39th, errr....40th Anniversary!

Still, I am missing her this week. She has become my coach, my cheerleader, and my grocery shopping partner on Tuesdays when we meet in Lubbock for WW and lunch.

We shopped at Market Street the week before I went to Greenwood, and Dacia (who will be 4 in Sept) and I had fun over in the cake and pastry section while Lorena took Saidee and worked on her list.

There was a young woman behind the counter decorating a cake, and Dacia was just mesmerized by it for at least 10 minutes! Ahhh, the simple pleasures . . . Of course, then we also had to go thru the cake book and let her show me the one she wants for her 4th birthday. It will be Dora this year.

I am thankful that Lorena, Jeff and the girls live close enough to share this kind of time together.

Well, if I may, I would like to encourage you to keep on keepin on this week. Weight loss can be frustrating and exciting and can change as fast as the direction of the wind. Even without your cheerleader this week, remember that you blog family is here to continue praying for your perseverance in this commitment and God, above all, hears your desire to stick to this program. He desires for us to be healthy and keep our bodies holy for him. My prayers are with you as you make choices this week...

Bless you Sara,

And you are right, our bodies are holy. Thanks for the encouragement. I have been making healthy choices today, but I was.......tempted. : )

I really do appreciate being a part of this blog family. Reading your posts, as well as Mae's, Jon's, Q's and others have been quite inspiring.

Serena, I too want to encourage you. My wife has been doing WW online this year and has lost over 30 pounds. As I observed her it occurred to me that monitoring what we eat is a good idea no matter what the scale says so I started trying it casually and lost 19 pounds. You strike me as a much more disciplined person than I so you should do well.

Val,

There are pockets of my life that are disciplined. This is one area where I definently need help. Thanks also for your encouragement.

I also have enjoyed reading your blog.

Welcome aboard, or actually I am joining you been doing WW for almost 2 weeks, down 6 lbs!! But you are right it is much easier with a cohort, cheerleader or accountability partner. It's just one of these things that are hard to do alone. Good Luck!!

Nothing taste as good as being thin feels...

That has been on my refrigerator for a while now. Either the author of that phrase never tasted BlueBell or, I have forgotten what it feels like to be thin! ANYWAY take heart! Over have the female population of our country is with you! (This was supposed to be encouraging...)

Well, it looks like I am in good company, fellow bloggers! I have been out gardening this morning and have already drunk a 1/2 gallon of water. As far as points go, I am up to 12. That leaves room for some apples and a reasonable supper. I am currently out of those Smart Ones Giant Fudge Bars, but they are only 1 pt.

DJG: 6 lbs in 2 wks!!!!! You go girl!

SG, I have heard a version of your refrigerator mantra: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels or nothing tastes as good as fit feels. I don't know who originally came up with it, but Tony Robbins is the one I heard say it. Go figure: A guy who is 7 ft tall! I am sure he has never heard of Blue Bell!

Thanks to all for the online support. Perhaps we could start our own WW.Blogspot!

I, too, am doing WW. I'm a little frustrated at only 2.4 pounds this past week. Could it be those Skinny Cows every night at 8:00?

Okay, okay, you have piqued my curiousity. What's a Skinny Cow?

Well... a Skinny Cow is an"ice cream" treat. I get mine at Walmart. They are ice cream sandwiches and are only 2 points. I make myself wait until 8:00 p.m. to have it. Klondike makes a similar treat called "Slim-A-Bear". Blue Bunny also makes one but they are 3 points. I get so tired of the Fiber One every day. I HAVE to have a treat!

I will look for those. Thanks!

Y'all are hilarious.
I too have been a WW gal in the past, it was right before my wedding and I lost all of 2.6 lbs in 3 months. I went to the meetings and everything, then last year I did the e-diets deal. Visited the website just like the commercial suggests and didn't get anywhere! Of course, maybe there's more to all of it than just showing up... Dang it!
I'll jump on the ww blog bandwagon. It'll be great support and much cheaper than the $45 a month for officail online ww! Maybe we could be in a commercial w/ Fergie (but only if she joined in the blog family)!!! The possibilities are endless...
P.S. Don't you just love ending thoughts w/ ...?... :)

My husband and I are doing Atkins. Not ready to blog about it, but I'm down 4 pounds, and with my current difficulty swallowing, I'm hoping for a nice jumpstart! We only started two weeks ago. Of course, he's lost 9 pounds already. Men. And just so you'll know -- we have a very, very, very long way to go. This is definitely a stronghold in my life. You drop me a line anytime. clarissacox at hotmail dot com.

Wow...it is amazing when we are willing to transparent that we find out so many other people are in the same boat with us. After being out of town this weekend for our anniversary and having lots of "great" meals, I need to jump back on the bandwagon myself. I think the WW blog is a great idea as well....

I never did the WW thing, but I know what the struggle to lose weight is like. Currently, I'm about 12 lbs from my "goal weight," which may sound like a lot to some, but it's nothing compared to where I was.

About 3 years ago, I decided I needed to lose some weight. Okay, a LOT of weight. I had hit 310 lbs and at a height of 5'8" (though I actually lost an inch due to the weight), that's particularly un-good. It took forever, but I'm now, literally, just over half the woman I used to be. ^_~ As of now, I've lost 145 lbs. (I sound like a slim fast commercial or something here...) I'm far from "thin," but I'm much more okay with where I am now.

It's hard work, but it's worth it and it's worth doing right.

Wow! This is awsome! I think we really do need a ww blog.

Q, losing 145 lbs. -- Wow!

I lost 1.8 lbs. at my last weigh in. Not anything to write home about, but a start.

SG,

Yes, I am fine. I just got bogged down or should I say, blogged down.

After Mom and I took our little road trip, I hit the ground running at work. I have just been swamped.

Thanks for your concern. I went to WW last tuesday and hadn't lost or gained anything. I will go this tuesday and am bring a friend -- the elementary counselor from our district! : )
